Metal Adult Session 2A: Tool Making: Hand Tools (4-week) SAT Mar 8 - Mar 29
with Stuart Shirley
Over the course of four weeks students will learn basic forging, an introduction to steel metallurgy, steel alloys and heat treatment of those alloys. These skills and knowledge will be applied to forging a set of basic blacksmith punches and chisels. The forging in this class is accessible to all skill levels.
Leatherworkers, engravers, repousse artists and woodworkers would find this class directly applicable to making tools for their own craft.
