This class is intended to get you familiar with the basics of throwing on the potter's wheel. Students will have 3 weeks of throwing instruction, one week of trimming, and one week of glazing. This class is ideal for those who have limited experience and want to learn the basics of centering, trimming and glazing, with a short instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week.

Please note: This class does not include Open Lab hours or additional clay.

Ages 16+ to register

Class meets weekly on SUNDAYS.

This class is Pay What You Can with a suggested price of $200.

All pieces will be fired to Cone 6 in a reduction kiln.

Hearts - like glass - are prone to both melting and breaking. That's why Groundworks Art Lab's Glass Studio is the best spot for a Date Night! Bring your sweetheart, your sibling, a pal, or just yourself for this beginner-friendly class and fall in love with a new hobby. The projects and tools will vary from week to week, so you may find yourself making a set of custom glass coasters, or a fused glass suncatcher; you may even find yourself melting and reforming glass by hand with a little flame-working! No matter what the project, this class will shatter your date's expectations and you'll come away with a hand-made art piece you can cherish.

Please come dressed in close-toe and heel shoes, and natural material clothing, i.e. cotton or linen, long pants are recommended.No loose or dangling jewelry, long earrings or scarves.If you have long hair, please have it securely tied back from your face.We will provide safety goggles, but if you have your own and would like to bring them, please do!

⁃ Date Night tickets are non-refundable. If you need to change or reschedule your reservation, please do so by 5:00pm on the Monday before your scheduled Date Night. No transfers are allowed after 5:00pm on the Monday prior to your Date Night.

⁃ Registrations are not transferable to another person. If you would like to purchase a class on someone’s behalf, the intended registratrant’s information must be provided at the time of registration.

The Book Arts League is excited to announce that we will now offer open studio hours! Our shop will be available monthly for you to print your work. Below are the upcoming open studio dates. Join Brenda Gallagher to make a simple pamphlet stitch notebook with cardstock covers. To design the cover of the book, students will experiment with different embroidery stitches to make patterns. We'll practice our embroidery skills before moving to final book covers. An entire rainbow spectrum of embroidery floss will be available for you to choose the perfect colors for your design. Designs can be simple shapes, letters or anything you can imagine! Photos attached.

The Book Arts League is a Colorado-based community of individuals who share an interest in letterpress printing, calligraphy, and bookbinding.
