Open to students of all skill level! Each camp includes hands-on assistance to help every camper grow in wheel-throwing, trimming, and glazing, and a quick break in the middle for snacks and activities.

Supervised Lunch / Extended Pick-Up / Drop-off:Each student enrolled in camp can sign up for supervised lunch. Bring your own lunch to enjoy between morning and afternoon camps (12pm-1pm). The fee for this add-on program is $25 per week.

This camp will be available to register at 8:00AM on Monday, February 2.

Create a small, leather-bound notebook that is refillable (3.5" x 5.5"). We'll build two signatures of fine writing paper of about 30 pages each. We'll sew them with linen thread and include a pocket cut and folded from cardstock. Then we'll enclose the signatures in the leather cover with an elastic cord or a leather cord, depending on preference. Participants can emboss their initials or name on the cover.

The Book Arts League is excited to announce that we will now offer open studio hours! Our shop will be available monthly for you to print your work. Below are the upcoming open studio dates. BAL board members will be your hosts and will assist you with your printing projects. Bring your favorite cassette tape and learn to use it to make a distinctive book cover. Brenda Gallagher will show you how to sew a coptic stitch book with your cassette tape as the cover. You can use a second cassette tape for the back cover or use artwork from the cassette case  to make the back cover of the book as well!

For students that have never touched clay to those still learning the basics.

This class will cover the basic “how tos” of pottery. Students will learn the foundations of throwing, including how to confidently center, pull, and trim pots on the wheel. The class will also cover basic glazing techniques, attaching handles, and how to track your pieces through the studio.

Class meets weekly on MONDAYS

Note: This class will meet at the HILL location at 1010 Aurora Ave. You will only have open lab access at the same studio as your class.

All pieces will be fired to Cone 6 in a reduction kiln.

This class is PAY WHAT YOU CAN, with a suggested price of $220 (pro-rated 6 wk class). No class Sept. 7th for Labor Day or Sept. 14th for our annual fall event.

Using a variety of techniques, students will learn to compose and produce multicolored, multilayered monotype prints. We will begin by inking plexiglass plates to produce color flats, patterns, shapes and textures to which we will add other imagery, abstract layers, stenciled shapes or impressions of found materials depending on each student’s artistic goals.

Over the course of the class it will be possible to produce a number of finished artworks or just to learn how to use and combine various processes including drypoint etching and linoleum or Speedy-Cut block relief prints. Consider bringing some materials for inspiration such as photographs, sketches, or ideas that you would like to work from or explore.

•  Please come dressed in close-toed shoes, a shirt that can be tucked in and either short sleeves, or sleeves that can be rolled up past your elbows. 
• No loose or dangling jewelry.
• If you have long hair, please have it securely tied back from your face.
• We will provide safety goggles and/or full face shields, ear protection, and face masks to cover nose and mouth, but if you have your own PPE you would prefer to use, please do!
