Gas Metal Arc Welding, is the process by which an electric arc formsbetween a wire electrode and metal, causing fusion. Students willlearn MIG wire-feed welding and the basics of creating a small box andlid from steel bar and plate. Students will learn the basic techniquesfor drilling and threading holes for screws, as well as using ahand-held grinder. Students will practice techniques for putting steeltogether to make rectangular forms, fitting interior parts, andaesthetic sanding. Emphasis will be placed on both the welding andassembly processes.

Beginner Blacksmithing - Youth Blacksmithing Level 1

Entry Level Class (No prerequisite required) in Blacksmithing

In this course, students will learn to bend and shape steel. Students will practice traditional blacksmithing techniques, such as tapering, bending, twisting, and punching; using the forge and anvil.
