Print Adult Session 5A - A Touch of Printmaking: Drypoint (1 - Week Class)
with Melissa Pickering
$80
Have you always wanted to try printmaking, but didn't know where to start? This series of classes are ideal for those who have limited experience and want a taste of the varied and intricate art of printmaking. You can sign up for one or all 4 of these "hors d'oeuvre" classes.
There will be an instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques for each of the following: relief, monotype, and intaglio. This will include carving, mixing and rolling ink, and making a successful print.
This class: Drypoint - learn how to make a simple drypoint (intaglio) plate using plexiglas by marking and scratching an image by hand. The plate is then inked, wiped, and printed on the press.
Other Classes in Series: Week 1: Collagraph; Week 3: Monotype
These courses provide a great way to get a real sense of the art of printmaking, and to identify which direction to go next! Come have some fun in our new printmaking studio!
Note: This class will meet at the MAIN location at 3750 Canfield Street.
Ages: 16+
All supplies and materials will be provided.
Will be available to register on Monday, July 29 at 8:00am.
