Print Adult Session 5B - Monotype Printmaking - (4 - Week Class)

with Melissa Pickering

$245

Learn the basics of monotype printmaking using clear acrylic plates (aka plexiglass). We'll have fun with applying ink and incorporating found objects.

This class is ideal for those who have limited experience with printmaking. A monotype is a print that typically starts with a blank surface and results in a unique one-of-a-kind print. In this class, we'll experiments with several methods, such as "painting" on the plate, inking and wiping away, adding found objects, and making simple stencils.

There will be a short instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques, including making a collagraph plate, mixing and applying ink, and making a print using the press. Come have some fun in our new printmaking studio!

This class takes place at the new Groundworks Art Lab studio space at 3750 Canfield Street, Boulder, CO.

Ages: 16+

All supplies and materials will be provided.

Will be available to register on Wednesday, July 31 at 8:00am.
