Print Adult Session 6A: Connecting Communities, Printmaking and Installation Art (4 Weeks)
with Jonathan Nicklow
$265
In the pursuit of building local camaraderie and creativity come create a site-specific installation of prints of and about your community. The class will transform the perception of space, time, and the meaning of community. Students will come up with vital ideas of what constitutes a community and will begin by making sketches into relief prints. Many different relief printing techniques will be covered. All experience levels are welcome.
Students will first begin with an image of their home or dream house to create different types of relief prints. Throughout the course students can choose to make prints from the list of other important structures and features of their creative community. Towards the end the prints will be organized and collaged on the walls, with the direction of the students, to form the final Community Installation Exhibit.
Come participate in an extraordinary experience and become partners in the thought processes and the creation of an Installation Artwork with a passionate printmaking community.
For the first day of class bring ideas and a couple photos of your home, apartment, yurt, etc. (aka, Living Space)
