Print Adult Session 6B- A Touch of Printmaking: Drypoint (1 - Day Class)
with Melissa Pickering
$70
Have you always wanted to try printmaking, but didn't know where to start? This series of classes are ideal for those who have limited experience and want a taste of the varied and intricate art of printmaking. You can sign up for one or all 4 of these intro classes.
There will be an instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques for each of the following: relief, monotype, and intaglio (in the future, screenprinting will also be included). This will include carving, mixing and rolling ink, and making a successful print.
Night 4: Drypoint - learn how to make a simple drypoint (intaglio) plate using plexiglas by marking and scratching an image by hand. The plate is then inked, wiped, and printed on the press.
Other Classes in Series: Week 1: Collagraph; Week 2: Relief; Week 3: Monotype
These courses provides a great way to get a real sense of the art of printmaking, and to identify which direction to go next! Come have some fun in our new printmaking studio!
