Groundworks Art Lab

Create and print your own plate while learning about the unique form of printmaking using a recycled Tetrapak carton (aka an asceptic container, used for things like boxed soup or chai tea!).

This class is ideal for those who have limited experience with Intaglio printmaking, which is printing ink from within the grooves of the plate. Tetrapak plates are made by scratching at or cutting away the material, implementing various collagraph and drypoint techniques, and leveraging the existing creases and folks in the tetrapak to add a unique touch.

There will be a short instructor demo and hands-on assistance throughout the workshop. Students will perform all the steps of printing, from making a tetrapak plate, mixing and applying ink, and finally to making a print using the press. Come have some fun in our new printmaking studio!

Ages: 16+ 

All supplies and materials will be provided. 

All Friday, Saturday, and Sunday classes will be available to register on Friday, Sept 27 at 8:00am.
