Print Adult Session 1B - Relief Printmaking Using Linoleum (4-week)

Learn the basics of relief printmaking using linoleum. This course provides an introduction to carving a block and making a successful print.
This class is great for those who have limited experience and to try their hand at linoleum printmaking. Linoleum does not have a grain and is a different experience than carving wood.
There will be a short instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques, including carving a linoleum block, mixing and rolling ink, and making a print using the press. Come have some fun in our new printmaking studio!
Ages: 16+
All supplies and materials will be provided.
Will be available to register on Wednesday, December 11th at 8:00am.
Printmaking "Office Hours"

You've taken a class, but now you just want to be heads down working on your block, plate, or other idea, and you want to print it! We can help. Sign up for this freeform session to get some time in the studio, with an instructor present to answer questions and operate the press. There will be a limit of 4 people, to ensure you'll have press time.
What's included: Time in the studio, with an instructor present Ability to print your block/plate Ability to use the press, with instructor operation or supervision 1 sheet of 22"x30" archival quality printmaking paper (Arches, Rives, or other) Limited amount of ink/modifiers Limited tools, such as palatte knives, basic carving tools, etc.
What's not included: Your plate/block - bring your own, whatever you worked on in class or purchase your own Extra paper - we'll get you started, but bring the specific paper you want to use for your project Screen Printing of any kind
NOTE participants MUST have printmaking experience, this is not an instruction class.
Print Youth Session 1B: Teen Print Class (4-week)

Ages: 13 - 16
Relief printing, block carving, ink, oh my! We are offering Youth classes to one of our new studio art forms - Printmaking! There will be instruction and hands-on assistance each week. Students will learn about the techniques of printmaking, engage with tools and materials, and design and print a plate. Come have some fun in our printmaking studio!
All supplies and materials will be provided.

Explore patterns and textures by layering found objects into prints. Learn the basics of monotype printmaking using plexiglass plates, applying ink and incorporating found objects.

This class is ideal for those who have limited experience with printmaking. A monotype is a print that typically starts with a blank surface and results in a one-of-a-kind print.

Print Adult Session 1B: Introduction to Screen Printing (4-week)

Screen printing is fun! Be just like Andy Warhol, Laurie Hastings, or Corita Kent, and come try screen printing, also known as silk screen printing.
This class is great for those who have limited printmaking experience. Learn the basics of screen printing using a silk screen. This course provides an introduction to creating your idea, making a stencil, transferring it to the screen, and making a successful print.
There will be an instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week.

Have you always wanted to try printmaking, but didn't know where to start? This class is ideal for those who have limited experience and want a taste of the varied and intricate art of printmaking.
There will be an instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques for each of the following: relief, monotype, and intaglio. This will include carving, mixing and rolling ink, and making a successful print.
This course provides a great way to get a real sense of the art of printmaking, and to identify which direction to go next! Come have some fun in our printmaking studio!
