Printmaking "Office Hours"

You've taken a class, but now you just want to be heads down working on your block, plate, or other idea, and you want to print it! We can help. Sign up for this freeform session to get some time in the studio, with an instructor present to answer questions and operate the press. There will be a limit of 4 people, to ensure you'll have press time.

What's included: Time in the studio, with an instructor present Ability to print your block/plate Ability to use the press, with instructor operation or supervision 1 sheet of 22"x30" archival quality printmaking paper (Arches, Rives, or other) Limited amount of ink/modifiers Limited tools, such as palatte knives, basic carving tools, etc.

What's not included: Your plate/block - bring your own, whatever you worked on in class or purchase your own Extra paper - we'll get you started, but bring the specific paper you want to use for your project Screen Printing of any kind

NOTE participants MUST have printmaking experience, this is not an instruction class.

 

Mosaic Class

The Mosaic class will teach glass cutting and design placement and includes the grouting of your pieces. All materials are included. Students leave the class with their very own, unique mosaic project to display or use.

No prior experienced needed.

Ages: 16+

Welcome to the world of pottery! This class is designed for young children that are new to clay and working to develop their skills in hand-building. Students will create fun and unique projects in functional and sculptural forms. Children will learn to build strong, hollow pieces and will slip and paint their own work. Join us for these weekly classes where kids can get messy, learn about clay, and make new friends!

Bring imagination into form through basic clay techniques and creative problem-solving. Instructors will encourage students to try new things and make vibrant works of art. Students will slip and paint their own work.

Ages: 5 - 9


This class is Pay What You Can with a suggested price of $100.

Wood Adult Session 1B: Monday Woodworking Sampler (4-week)

Immerse yourself in the world of woodworking by joining our comprehensive sampler class! This workshop is perfect for both beginners. Learn the basics of woodworking in this hands-on class. You'll gain experience with essential tools and techniques, including:

  • Safety: Understand woodworking safety procedures to protect yourself and your workspace.
  • Hand Tool Usage: Master the art of using hand tools like saws, chisels, and planes.
  • Power Tool Operation: Safely operate power tools such as drills, sanders, and routers.
  • Basic Joinery: Explore traditional joinery techniques like dovetails, mortise and tenon, and pocket holes.
  • Project Building: Apply your skills to build a small woodworking project, such as a cutting board or birdhouse.

As part of your woodworking journey, you will craft beautiful and functional items. These projects not only provide a practical application of the techniques you learn but also serve as wonderful additions to your home or thoughtful gifts for loved ones.

Print Adult Session 1B - Printmaking SAMPLER (4-week)

Have you always wanted to try printmaking, but didn't know where to start? This class is ideal for those who have limited experience and want a taste of the varied and intricate art of printmaking.

There will be an instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques for each of the following: relief, monotype, and intaglio. This will include carving, mixing and rolling ink, and making a successful print.

This course provides a great way to get a real sense of the art of printmaking, and to identify which direction to go next! Come have some fun in our printmaking studio!

Ages: 16+

Print Adult Session 1B - Copper Etching (4-week)

Join us for a captivating 4-week Copper Etching printmaking class, where creativity and craftsmanship intertwine! Perfect for curious printmakers, this class offers a hands-on exploration of the rewarding art of copper etching.

There will be instruction and hands-on assistance each week. Students will learn about the techniques of copper etching, engage with tools and materials, and design and print a copper plate.

Ages: 16+

Full Course

Metal Youth Session 1B: Teen Class (4-week)

Calendar Feb 4, 2025 at 4:30 pm, runs for 4 weeks

Ages: 13 - 16

In this course, students will learn to bend and shape steel. Students will practice traditional blacksmithing techniques, such as tapering, bending, twisting, and punching; using the forge and anvil. This class will cover shop safety, fire management, tools and equipment, and the appropriate use of the various parts of the anvil. Students will leave with valuable skills in blacksmithing while gaining self-confidence with completed projects such as a bracelet, hook, fork, or spoon.

What to Wear in the Metals Studio?  

You must dress safely and appropriately. Arrive for class in all-natural fiber clothing, long pants, and closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with socks that protect up to the ankle. Long hair must be tied back. Nylon, polyester, spandex, or other synthetics are not allowed around machines, equipment, or processes that can produce hot fragments, sparks, or flames. Layers are encouraged, as the studio can be very cold or very hot. 

Welding students are recommended to wear long sleeve shirts to prevent arc-flash burns. Additional protective gear shall be provided as needed. 

Personal Property: 

Personal materials will need to go home with you at the end of each class. We do not provide storage. 

All Monday and Tuesday classes will be available to register on Monday, December 9th at 8:00am.

Wood Youth Session 1B: Preteen Wood Class (4-week)

Woodworking Fun for Kids! Spark your child's creativity and introduce them to the exciting world of woodworking! In this fun and safe class, young learners will learn basic woodworking skills while crafting their own unique projects.

What to Expect:

  • Safety First: We'll start by learning essential safety rules for working with tools and materials.
  • Tool Time: Kids will be introduced to basic woodworking tools like hammers, saws, and drills (under adult supervision).
  • Creative Projects: We'll work on a variety of age-appropriate projects, such as birdhouses, toy cars, or decorative signs.
  • Finishing Touches: Kids will learn how to sand, paint, and stain their projects to create personalized masterpieces.

Let your child's imagination soar as they discover the joy of woodworking!
